      <image:caption>Stand in the door frame with the back of your pelvis, your back, and your head against one side. Step one leg back and the other leg forward to come into a lunge shape. Place the back knee on the ground. Exhale and press through the legs to lift yourself up any amount—maybe all the way up to straight legs. Inhale to lower back down toward the ground any amount. Your back body will slide up and down as you go, helping you maintain alignment. To release, rest your back against the wall and step your back foot forward to meet your front foot. To make things easier, you could also place a block or a bolster under the back knee so it doesn’t have as far to go.</image:caption>

Explore how the position of your head and arms changes the sensation you feel. As you move your head and/or arms, feel how your muscles move under the ball. When you’re ready to release, step one foot and then the other to the floor (in a standing forward fold). Exhale and slowly stand up.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Grab a half dome foam roller (You could also use a rolled yoga mat or a rolled blanket.) Lightly rest the ball of one foot on the half dome and check in. Avoid thrusting your ribs. Slowly step your other foot forward. Notice if the ball of your stretch foot begins to press down harder on the half dome (like you’re pressing the gas pedal). More pressure on the ball of the foot equals less uphill shape so keep it light and easy. You can stay in this stretch for a while but if you need a starting recommendation, try 10-30 seconds to begin with. When you’re ready to exit, step the non-stretch foot back and step off the half dome. Feel the difference. Repeat on the other side.</image:caption>
